“Less Waste .Let’s do it”


Great Eagle X WGO’s “Less Waste.Let’s do it” programme was held this summer, aiming at training young people to become reduce, reuse, recycle (the 3Rs) ambassadors. At the end of the programme, they participated in encouraging the citizens to reduce waste, promote the reuse of abandoned stuffs and the correct application of recycling concepts (3R concepts). While Green Fair, which marked the climax of that programme, was successfully launched as well. During this carnival, individuals participated in interactive environmental activities, including: Exchange corner, Share a bag, and Upcycling workshops. Additionally, there were game booths for families. All participants enjoyed that programme and they had a wonderful time.

One that day, the Honourable Nicholas W. Yang, JP, Advisor to the Chief Executive on Innovation and Technology, and WGO’s CEO Dr. William Yu delivered speeches. Celebrity guests Ms. Leila Kong and Mr. Vince Ng shared their daily 3R habits and showed what they had bought for the Exchange corner. Lastly, all of the guests participated in the kick-off ceremony.

GOALS 2015 Spring Award Presentation Ceremony

WGO’s “United Nations Millennium Development GOALS: Green Office Award Labelling Scheme” (GOALS) 2015 Spring Award Presentation Ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 22th July. This ceremony attracted 80 organisations to attend.

Since GOALS was launched in 2013, it has been widely welcomed and has received recognition by the industry. To date, approximately 230 offices and organisations have joined the programme. This year, the newly joined organisations include: Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group Limited, Fortress Electrical Appliances Hong Kong, Watson’s Group Hong Kong Limited and EGL Holdings Company Limited etc.

The Big Picture – Inter-school forum on liberal studies (2015/16)

In connection with WGO’s ongoing interest in promoting youngsters’ engagement in caring for community and environmental affairs, WGO is launching “The Big Picture – Inter-school forum on liberal studies (2015/16)” with an aim to aid the students to understand an issue from various perspectives, to enhance their analytical power, and, at the same time, to promote team spirit. That school forum will include: conversations with the Secretary for the Environment, liberal studies workshops, campus reporters and short video competitions. This programme will run from mid-October 2015 until March 2016. For details, please go to our website.
