Green Partners Programme (GPP) – Celebrating the First Year of Success |
Towards the end of 2013, World Green Organisation held an award ceremony to appreciate our most valued corporations who had joined our Green Partners Programme. Our honourable guests presented trophies to each GPP member to recognize their efforts of promoting corporate social responsibility. We hope more corporations will join GPP and together we can build a green future.
As part of the programme, WGO organised a green facility's sharing tour for our GPP members in late November. A total of 15 staff from 5 companies visited two offices which had well-established green features and they exchanged valuable learnings in the go-green process. We will continue to organise similar visits, workshops and seminars so that more corporations will be informed of the latest news on environmental protection. |

Social Innovation Inventor – Competition for Innovative Design |
Sponsored by MTR and various corporations, the "Social Innovation Inventor – Competition for Innovative Design", organised by World Green Organisation in response to the increasing number of energy poor households, has received an overwhelming response since launched. Almost 100 teams have applied and hopefully that through their creativity, they can help improve the living environment of the underprivileged residing in sub-divided units. The competition is divided into secondary student group and tertiary student group. Their designs have to consider factors such as production cost and usage of environmental friendly materials.
After the preliminary round of judging in February, finalist teams (10 from each group) will be short-listed and will attend free workshops to help enhance and improve their designs before submitting their final work for judging in June. The prize for the champion team is a study tour to Cambridge University. For details please visit http://thewgo.org/inventor (Chinese only). |
